Heard of Rapha House? If not, it’s time you did! This nonprofit organization is dedicated to running a safehome for girls who have been victims of human trafficking and sexual slavery, raising awareness for the very real problem of human trafficking, and offering hope and a brighter future for the girls who have suffered from it.
Rapha’s home base is here in downtown Joplin, located between Trios and the Vinery on main street. I was asked by my good friend Abby DeWelt (one of the ladies who works for Rapha and a former Starbucks co-worker of mine!) if I’d be interested in doing some photos for the organization and girls that run it, and I was very glad to do so. These ladies are doing so much to make a change and I felt honored to play a small part with what I do. Here’s a few shots from the session we had, taking advantage of the very cool space the group works out of and the natural brick walls within the building. If you’d like to find out more about Rapha, you can visit their site at http://www.freedomforgirls.com, become a fan on facebook, or drop by and take a tour during the day at their downtown location.
