baby caroline:: session #2 (baby’s 1st year)

    Those Eidson kiddos are back… woohoooooo! Mom Sarah had, of course, yet another amazing location staked out for us in Springfield, MO… the gorgeous home of her good friend Amy.

I LOVE old houses, and this one has been restored to perfection, with about 137 different spots I could have used to shoot. Of course the focus was not the house, but rather adorable little Caroline and her big sister Olivia… so while I admit I feel I did not even begin to do the home justice, I am very happy with the pictures we got of these little cuties.

The pool shots were my favorite… so much color, contrast, & overall adorableness!!

here’s a shot to make you say ‘awwww!’

and here’s a shot to make you saw ‘awwww!’ while also laughing a lot.

Samantha + Josh:: husband & wife!

    you might remember this couple from the engagement pictures a few weeks back. Now they’re all done married… a truly beautiful day with some fantastic natured people.

    Yes, my wedding blog posts have gotten longer… I got a groovin’ new app that helps me bundle photos together quickly and I’m going a little crazy with it. Plus I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it is to narrow down an entire wedding day to a brief blog post.

Bear with me! 🙂

(possibly my favorite) »»>

so this post is so long I had to put a break in here somewhere. click for much more!

can’t even stand it.

when I saw these golf carts, I immediately knew what had to be done…

the top photo was so cute, I had to show it to the bride. The 2nd photo is her reaction.

I really do love grandparents w/ cameras at weddings. I need to make a separate little gallery just made up of all the hilarious pictures of ‘camera duels’ I’ve had with them at various weddings! Here’s my new favorite… only this time, thanks to facebook, I got the unexpected benefit of seeing HER picture of ME as well!

the fellow in the lower right corner cracks me up. Enjoying being able to escort not one, but TWO lovely ladies…

beautiful setting and perfect time of day! I love sunset weddings…

1st dance!!

had a few downtime moments to pull together a brief slideshow for the wedding party to see during the reception. Of course, I had to take a picture of them looking at the pictures…

this was the dance to see who’s been married the longest… there was a bit of confusion toward the end, however, with determining which of the final 3 couples had actually earned the title… it was a pretty close call!

And finally, I’m ending on a couple of photos featuring a little trick I’ve wanted to try for awhile… fun with sparklers! Thanks to Samantha for inspiring me to give it a try… what a great way to top off the day!

you can see just a hint of how this was done in the left photo below… our sparkler volunteer wasn’t quite fast enough to be invisible on this one!

Laney, session #2

Laney was barely born, it seems like, last time I saw her… look at this beautiful little lady now!

Began to get to know this family when I took pictures of Laney’s big brother Bennett a couple years back (doesn’t seem like it’s been that long). Took senior pics of the two’s older brother Ethan last fall, and now Laney is nearing a year already. As always, I can’t begin to say how honored I am to be chosen to document a family’s life as time goes on.

enough talk…

there’s a story for this one… intended prop: girly beads. Laney wanted NUTHIN to do with them… instead, she went for the nearby soccer ball. Tomboy through and through. 🙂

Louis + Amanda :: MARRIED!

    I’ve had a little hiatus from weddings the last couple of months… it was nice, but it’s also rewarding getting back to it. Louis & Amanda had, I believe, the best possible wedding for me to enter the season on; relaxed, funny, and absolutely full of pure JOY. You will be hard pressed to find a couple that were as genuinely happy throughout their day as these two were.

   I also knew a few of the folks, and was happy to see nearly the entire ‘geek squad’ from best buy (a crew I’ve gotten to know after several technological disasters that best buy was recruited to help me solve…) either in the wedding party or filming from the sidelines.

   And last but not least, I have to mention that this is also the 1 year anniversary for Jon & Whitney Hamilton… remember those two from last year? They sacrificed their anniversary day to be in Louis & Amanda’s wedding party… what a sweet pair!

As a special little note… Bud & Billie- pictured here w/ Louis- were some of my very first Joplin clients a few years back, when I shot some of my first ‘couple portraits’ for their 50th wedding anniversary. It was such an incredible surprise to see them here at this wedding and learn they were Louis’ grandparents!

And here, at the very end, is a pic from Jon & Whitney’s wedding last year. Happy wedding Louis & Amanda… and happy anniversary, Jon & whitney! 🙂
