It’s that wedding time of year. But this one, I didn’t expect…
My best friend called me up one week to let me know he’d be in St Louis (he currently lives in Brooklyn, NY) for a wedding. It just so happened, the friend getting married had a photographer drop out on them the week before the big day. Not very nice, photographer. So we worked out logistics, I got a chance to hang out with my buddy, and they got a wedding photographer… namely, me.
The attendees of this particular day were some of the most diverse I’ve encountered within a single event.
You see, Alex is a theology professor. So, as you can imagine, his groomsmen were a bunch of nerdy (meant as a supreme compliment, fellas) genius Ph.D professors/writers. Let me tell you, I’m 99% certain I was the lowest IQ in the room…
Wendy, is from Ghana. And a good chunk of family & friends from her home country made it to a little town outside of St Louis, Missouri to celebrate.
1/2 of the room… spunky Africans. 1/2 of the room… white professors.
All of them were absolutely wonderful, kind people; the kindest of all being Wendy and Alex, of course. I’ve rarely seen a more thankful, humble, and truly in-love couple than these.
And Lance… thanks for making this happen. And also, for running around downtown with me, taking random pictures that I’m sure to post at some bored point in the dead of winter.
Back to the couple…
Lovely Photos,I am an aunt of the bride, couldn’t attend the wedding.
