This is the fourth and final session for baby Keagan’s 1st year. I always have mixed emotions when another baby’s first year comes to a close… awesomeness that they’ve been in this world a whole year already/excitement that now we get to make them their awesome 1 year book… and then, of course a little sad that it happened so fast.
Really, I should stop being so dramatic… it’s not the end of the WORLD and it’s not like I’ll stop taking pictures of this little guy or anything…
Keagan’s parents Kim & Nathan are good friends of mine & my own kids love mr. Keagan too, especially my little girl who screams ‘KEAAAAAGAN!’ every time she sees the business card I have w/ this boy on it. Makes me laugh.
Enough talk: pictures!
If Keagan won’t wear the loran mustache, guess who WILL?
Some of you that keep up with my work- or know me personally- may recognize this couple:
They are old friends of mine, Campbell & Kimberly Fisher. There is, however, a THIRD member of their little family you HAVEN’T seen… even though I’ve been taking pictures of him for the last year. He’s been referred to as ‘baby K’, his identity somewhat protected until now since he has been in the foster care program, w/ the Fishers serving as his temporary guardians since he was just a few days old.
The word ‘temporary’ bites the dust today. In fact, as of RIGHT NOW, the Fishers are officially baby K’s parents; having legally adopted him after a very long, anxious wait to be able to do so.
Now that it is official, I have the very great pleasure of being able to show you a few shots from sessions over the last few months that I haven’t been able to display until now.
So, so, overjoyed & excited for my friends on this day as they are able to make their family complete.
And baby K, henceforth, can be known by his official adopted name; Truman Kade Fisher.
Meet my good friends, Campbell & Kimberly. They’re pretty fun.
Brennon picked his own spot for this shoot, and I’m so happy that he did. We met up on some family farm property just outside of Golden City, Missouri— the rustic scenery combined with a spectacular sky and a beautiful classic car made for some photographic magic. (Is that a song? It should be if it isn’t.)
An exciting post for the following reason… it’s the first shoot to be done (partially) in the new studio!! Much thanks to senior Hilary and her mom Kathryn for looking past the clutter of the not quite ready studio-in-progress and seeing the ‘cool’ beneath.
All shots in this post are either in or near the new location. Want to see it yourself?? Then be sure to turn up for next week’s downtown Joplin art walk on the 16th and come on around to the back of 509 s main (west side of the health solutions/hacket’s hott wings building) and follow the signs for the official studio opening! Fun events for the evening will be announced soon… in the meanwhile enjoy the first of a new season of senior pictures!
Haily is a unique and artistic girl with a lot of beauty and a pretty cool family. Of course I would say the family is cool… mom, dad, and sister Lindsey were all there helping hold reflectors and light stands in the insane hurricane-force winds. Well, the wind felt that strong at the time anyway. I promise.
Thanks goes out again to the family for serving as my ‘assistants’ and to Hailey for being a great model and sharing my love for art and indie music.
As the most random job I’ve had in awhile, I was asked by a company called RefrigiWear (makers of insulated suits worn by warehouse workers) to take a shot of one of the winners from their ‘warehousemen of the year’ calendar. Brandy, pictured below, works at AmericCold in Carthage, Missouri and was the 2nd woman to win the contest in the last 10 years. I gave her the image that will make her the honored representative of a full month of insulated suit. Will she be August? January? oh, the suspense.
Pay no mind to the picture below hers. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to photograph myself sitting on a forklift…
Hey everybody! Just put up a brand new rates page with some pretty fun new packages. 4 new packages for families… 3 of which include shnazzy modern HOLIDAY CARDS… and 2 new ‘baby’s 1st year’ packages, which I’m very excited about. you can check it all out by clicking (here).
Tensions ran low during this wedding; Krista and Matt knew how to keep it casual and stress free, and were a pleasure to work with. Their patience was appreciated as I snapped away under some of the highest temperatures I’ve worked in… it was a warm one but beautiful and the pictures came out great!
